St. Louis

Our first family trip since Christmas, we had been avoiding due to the dreaded 12-18 month old. But, Drew is 19 months today - so we decided to give a weekend trip a whirl and headed to St. Louis on July 23rd. It was SWELTERING this past weekend in St. Louis, I think Friday was 102 and super humid. But, the kids did great and Ethan walked everywhere that we did and still had energy to boot.
Our first stop was to take the Metro because it was hot and the boys love trains. So we went over to Union Station (which is not much to see these days) but the kids did enjoy feeding the goldfish in the little pond and Jono so patiently gave out one little nibble each time for Drew to dump into the water.First stop on Saturday morning, well the Arch of course. Ethan thought the ride up was fantastic and the boys enjoyed peering out into St. Louis.Next stop was the City Museum which is the neatest place I have ever been for kids. Drew was not sure about the ball pit but they both loved the train ride.
On Sunday, we ate and then headed to the zoo. Such a nice zoo and free too. We of course had to do the train, which both kids enjoyed. It stopped right in front of the tigers and we had a great view which was my favorite thing we saw all day.

It was a good trip, and gave us a clue what our vacation in October for 5 nights will look like. Those boys do have a lot of energy though.....

My Birthday

My 35th birthday...Jono was traveling so I was blessed with an evening with the remaining Benjamin Leawood clan. Of course, I had lots of help blowing out candles and eating the cake too.

Monkey See - Money Do

We get a lot of this around here - the little one imitates the big one. Sometimes it is cute and funny, other times not so much. But, I do love watching them interact and play!

4th of July at the Smith's farm

On 4th of July we attended the 2nd Annual party at the Smith Farm in Lousiberg, KS. Ethan loved the tractor, although was concerned b/c it was red instead of green. The kids got to see dogs, a horse, and several kittens.

They also had a great water bounce house that the kids just loved and a trampoline which if you know my boys is a big hit. Drew was happy as a clam with his cups in the water as a master mixologist. Unfortunatley, the rain showed up before the planned fireworks display so Jonathan and Ethan did not stay...maybe next year. Such a fun way to spend the holiday!!

Where has the time gone?

Ok, I know I have been REALLY awful at updating, will try to do at least 1-2 monthly. The boys are just growing up so fast...

Ethan being sweet to his little sleeping brother (haha, don't let this phot fool you). What a little cutie!
